Most George Formans don’t get up to searing temperatures. It needs to get to around 150 to 200 degree centigrade.
Try getting one of those grill pans and then place them over a gas hob (which usually gets to 300 degrees so it may work.

I use my foreman grill for portabellos all the time.. I prefer the “real grill”, but, the foreman does a decent job…

I have used portobello musrooms to fool people making them believe it was beef. I use it mostly to replace beef in some peruvian dishes such as LOMO SALTADO, amazing taste.

Love marinated portabellos. I marinate mine in olive oil, balsalmic vinegar, fresh chopped garlic, cracked pepper. Grill until almost done, top with goat cheese. Love the vids, keep up the good work..

Maria,
What are flur de salle flakes (spelling?)
ilovetocookalot says... on 20-03-2011
well, they are seared – but not burnt. Portabellas can take quite a bit of heat they are a very meaty mushroom.

Maria,
They look almost burnt. Is that what they should look like? I love mushrooms but do not have much experience cooking them. Tina
